NORTH COUNTRY APPALOOSA CLUB
Welcome to our club.
North Country Appaloosa Club is a regional club located in Northern and Central Minnesota. We are a group of Appaloosa lovers dedicated to the promotion of the Appaloosa Horse and in support of Appaloosa members everywhere. NCAC sponsors 2 shows a year. We have an open show in June and our regional breed show is in July. Our members are engaged in showing, barrel racing, dressage, trail riding, and simply enjoying our horses.
History of NCAC
The North Country Appaloosa Club was chartered over 25 years ago in Northern Minnesota. Our club is working to promote the Appaloosa Horse in Minnesota. We represent the Appaloosa breed at various horse expos in the upper midwest. During the year we hold different types of fund raisers to help fund our programs. We have started a 4-H recognition program for 4-H'ers who show their Appaloosas in 4-H shows. We are always open to ideas to help promote the wonderful Appaloosa horse. Of course we are always looking for volunteers who would like to join us in promoting this great horse.

The Valley Equestrian newspaper will be having some information on the North Country Appaloosa Club in their September issue. They also have generously included information in the past and we appreciate their help keeping other horse people informed about our club.

If you own horses, you might be interested in learning about the National Animal Identification System that USDA is proposing. NAIS includes premises registration and microchip ID for horses It will have an effect on the way we manage our horses and their vacinations and coggins tests, taking them off our property for trail rides, shows, or involving our kids in 4H. All horse movements will have to be reported within 24 hours of movement or there can be substantial fines. Five states now have laws preventing NAIS from being mandatory.
