NORTH COUNTRY APPALOOSA CLUB
NCAC Riding/Driving Hours Program
Object of Program: To encourage members to use their horses. This is a free program that is for all members, no matter what activities they do with their horses, they get credit for time spent with them. An idea for keeping track of hours is to simply tack up a sheet of paper and a pen on a string where you tack up your horse.
Rules:
1. Open to all current members in the North Country Appaloosa Club.
2. Program is free. Members need to submit names to program director to participate. Please put "NCAC Program" in the subject line when sending an e-mail.
3. Hours either riding or driving a horse count toward hours in the program.
4. Horses do not need to be owned by the participant or a member of the club.
5. Horses can be any breed, grade or registered.
6. Any activity, whether trail riding, arena riding, pasture riding, showing, driving, etc. counts. There is no restriction on the activity, just that the actual in saddle/cart time is to be counted. Time spent preparing your horse for riding/driving doesn't count.
7. Program runs from November 1 to October 31 each year. Hours need to be turned in to the club by November 15th to be counted for year end awards.
8. An embroidered patch is awarded for the first 100 hours. A star is awarded for each 100 hours after that. The adult (18 and older) and junior (17 and under) rider with the most hours each year receives a gift from the club. Value of each gift to be approximately $20.00
9. Hours can be kept logged in a notebook, computer text program and either mailed through the post office or e-mailed to the program director. Each entry is to include the date of activity and amount of time spent riding/driving. Hours should be totaled by each month and sent in monthly or as a final total for the year.
